My brain veered with this one and developed a one track destination I couldn’t resist and… well, you’ll see.
Loki stood next to Darcy who was huddled over her laptop at the kitchen table. He eyed her curiously when she brought up a website that seemed dedicated to photos with random text scrawled across them. He leaned closer to read one of them, “Can I… has cheeseburger.” He sounded pained as he spoke, “How can you read that?” He wrinkled his nose, “The grammar and spelling are horrendous!”
Darcy frowned and spared him a glance, “They’re called LOL Cats.” Her tone suggested that she’d explained everything.
“Darcy, I’m not sure what an l-o-l is, but I can see that they are cats.” He took the seat next to her, scooting closer so that he could lean over the laptop as well, “Why do you find this fascinating?”
She continued scrolling, ignoring him for a moment as she giggled at one of the pictures. “They’re funny,” she answered.
He narrowed his eyes and allowed her to scroll through a few more pictures while she occasionally giggled before he read another one aloud, squinting, “Oh hi…” he paused, leaning in closer to almost block Darcy’s view, “What the hell does that even say?”
“It says, “she rolled her eyes, “Oh hi there-“
“That isn’t how you spell there.”
She cut her eyes at him, frowning deeply before she sighed. She pursed her lips before she clicked her tongue, “Alright, what about this then.” She clicked a few times before typing something out, bringing up another web site. This one displayed a much wider variety of images, many of them with two lines of text. “Let’s try some of these.”
Darcy showed him Paranoid Parrot which earned a soft chuckle. Socially Awkward Penguin received a hum of amusement and a dig at Thor, and Philosoraptor gave him pause. She almost died laughing when Loki actually stopped her from scrolling in order to consider some of the things written for the Philosoraptor memes. She made sure to avoid clicking on any of the Staredad memes. She didn’t feel like dealing with daddy-issues right now.
Loki paused her when he saw something that had caught his eye, “Click on that one.”
“The one with the grey and black background and has the black wolf.”
Darcy’s head dropped, “Are you serious? You would point that one out.”
Loki arched a brow and patiently waited for her to bring up the image. She sighed before clicking on it. He read the first one aloud, “Die the way you were born,” he trailed off, lips quirking up in amusement, “screaming and bathed in blood.” He chuckled softly and asked for her to click on another. “Someone hates you for no reason?” He laughed, “Give that motherfucker a reason.”
Darcy frowned in concern before she stood, “Look, I gotta run Jane something real quick. You seem to be enjoying yourself so you can keep looking through these.” He didn’t answer her as he scooted the laptop over and began scrolling through the page, reading as he went.
She was only gone for fifteen minutes at most. Entering the home, she suddenly worried for her sanity as she was greeted with the sights and sounds of Loki cackling at the laptop. Darcy considered calling S.H.I.E.L.D. when she realized he’d gone through almost thirty pages of Insanity Wolf.
