FanGirls Present: Bring on the Dancing Boys / Special project in association with Glamorouswellness
Starring for Day 1 : Micheal “Fassy” Fassbender
Why I love him: At first, I remembered him from Hex because there’s no way I could have forgotten a sexy demon (I have priorities in life, what can I say), he was a face I saw a lot in the background like Fishtank and other projects before his Hollywood big break. And then, well BOOM. Movies like X-Men made him the new hot thing. But a movie like Jane Eyre did a lot to my new found appreciation BUT the thing with the ex-girlfriend saying he was violent put a damper on my enthusiasm about Fassy. I couldn’t help but like his acting but I felt less attracted to his chiseled features and I instinctively stopped admiring him. Then, I read a good article about the problems and lies the woman had and I could breathe again; I wasn’t attracted to a bastard. Don’t laugh, I had real mixed feelings for a long time. I like that he is European, that he had a part in a Tarantino movie, that he played bad guys, good guys, ambivalent guys and ROBOTS! His face makes him seem dangerous, when he talks he does this fake smile thing that almost screams ‘I’m a shark, I’ll eat you’ and you don’t know if you’d feel happy or scared about the possibility. I like calling him Fassy because one, it’s too long to write his whole name and two, it makes him familiar and more goofy. In his interviews, that fact that he tried to make everyone ship his character David8 and Shaw in the Prometheus movie is quite adorable. Any guy pushing for a love story, even a strange one, is good in my book. He is the perfect modern bad guy for any director because he can give the creeps but you’ll ask yourself questions about his past and a part of you will commiserate with the guy. Plus, he knows how to cry. Well, I can say that mister Fassy will be one of my favorite actor in the future because I know his projects will be interesting and daring (I still have qualms about watching Shame only because I’m a ninny).
